At the session of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission held on 11 February 2025 in Tuzla, the decisions on tariffs for distribution services and electricity supply within the universal service in the Brčko District of BIH were passed, which will be applied as of 1 March 2025. A public hearing on this tariff proceeding was held on 21 January 2025 in Brčko.
An average electricity price for the customers supplied within the universal service increased by 9%, amounting to 21.96 fening/kWh for households and 24.26 fening/kWh for other consumers, that is, commercial customers connected to the 0,4 kV whose annual consumption does not exceed 35,000 kWh.
The price change was caused by an increase in the electricity purchase price, which is 21.4% higher in comparison to the price in 2024, which reflects the price trends in the electricity market in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
In the decision-making process, SERC took into account the measures of the Brčko District Government under which a part of electricity costs for vulnerable customers has been subsidised for several years already.
