CEER WELCOMES BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA Print

Press release of the Council of the European Energy Regulators (CEER) downloaded from the CEER’s website

The State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC1) of Bosnia and Herzegovina has joined the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER2). The CEER General Assembly, today, admitted SERC as an Observer, with effect from 1 January 2017.

In late 2015, CEER opened its doors to the Contracting Party Members of the Energy Community region. SERC is the 5th national regulatory authority (NRA) from the Energy Community region to join CEER.

Welcoming SERC, CEER President, Lord Mogg said:

“As the European association of energy regulators, one of our strengths is that we are the regulatory practitioners of Europe’s energy laws. We are delighted to share with SERC our expertise implementing EU energy laws and solving together regional energy market challenges.”

SERC Chair, Mr Suad Zeljković, added:

"Joining CEER provides valuable additional expertise to SERC, a national regulator who is committed to regional energy market integration in the Western Balkans and to implementing Europe’s energy laws.”

CEER serves as a platform for energy regulators within and beyond the borders of the EU-28 Member States of the European Union3. CEER’s broad vision of encompassing key transit countries and countries on the periphery of Europe in close energy dialogue and regulatory cooperation is aligned with the external dimension of the Energy Union.

CEER brings together 35 national regulatory authorities (NRAs) from EU Member States, EFTA and EU accession countries, including from the Energy Community4.
